Regional airports within or near the PowerSouth service include:

The area is in close proximity to two larger international airports – Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (Birmingham, AL) and Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (Atlanta, GA). Many of the counties have municipal airports that can accommodate corporate jets.


PowerSouth communities are serviced by two major rail providers – Norfolk Southern and CSX Corporation. Several shorter railways provide rail access throughout the area. These rail providers are:

Alabama State Port Authority - The Port of Mobile

Operated by the Alabama State Port Authority, the Port of Mobile is a full-service, deepwater port that includes terminal services and access to five major railroads, various trucking companies, two interstate systems (I-10 and I-65), and Brookley Airport Complex (freight forwarding transportation services).

The Alabama State Port Authority also operates a system of ten inland ports throughout Alabama. The state is part of the Tennesse-Tombigbee Waterway.
